The award adds another major achievement to the career of the DJ, who is widely recognised for his work across the Afrobeats scene and his long-standing association with Nigerian music star Wizkid.

DJ Tunez emerged ahead of a strong field of nominees that included DJ Spinall, Uncle Waffles, DJ Dollar, DJ Obi, DJ Sly King, DJ Commissioner Wysei, DJ Nelasta, Major League DJs, DJ Kaywise, DJ Dope Caesar and DJ Moh.

Celebrating the victory, DJ Tunez took to Instagram to thank AFRIMMA and everyone who voted for him. “Ogbafia number 1. God bless @afrimma & everyone that voted! Best DJ Africa & the world!” he wrote.

Known for his work with artists including Wizkid, Wande Coal, Burna Boy and Omah Lay, DJ Tunez has built a reputation as one of the Nigerian DJs helping to push Afrobeats to international audiences.
