Israel Shares Intelligence With US Claiming Iran May Be Considering Chemical Weapons

Israel has reportedly shared intelligence with the United States suggesting that Iran may be considering the use of chemical weapons against Israel and other regional adversaries, raising fresh security concerns amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

According to a report by The New York Times published on November 3, 2026, Israeli officials briefed American and Gulf country representatives on their assessment that Iran was developing ways to deliver chemical agents through missiles or secretly transport them into enemy countries.

The intelligence has reportedly divided opinion among US officials, with some expressing concern while others question its credibility and the motives behind the warnings.

Israeli officials reportedly presented the alleged chemical weapons threat as more urgent than Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

However, some American officials reportedly believe the warnings could be part of an effort by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to persuade US President Donald Trump to resume large-scale military operations against Iran.

Other officials argue that the allegations deserve attention, particularly given concerns about potential Iranian attacks on American and allied interests.

The report also indicated that some Gulf officials were unconvinced by Israel’s intelligence briefings, reportedly questioning the claims because supporting evidence had not been presented to them.

The intelligence reportedly suggests that Iran may be developing technology to deploy chemical agents through ballistic missiles or smuggle them into other countries.

However, concerns remain about whether Iran has the capability and intention to carry out such attacks. Experts have also highlighted the technical challenges involved in effectively dispersing chemical agents through missile systems.

Iran has previously rejected allegations that it possesses or is developing chemical weapons. The latest claims have not been independently established through publicly available evidence.

The intelligence disclosure comes at a sensitive time as Washington and Tehran continue to face tensions over regional security, military operations and diplomatic negotiations. The possibility of renewed military action has also increased concerns about further escalation across the Middle East.

For now, the chemical weapons allegations remain disputed, with US officials reportedly holding different views about the credibility of Israel’s assessment. The development adds another layer of uncertainty to an already tense relationship between Iran, Israel and the United States.
