Ooni of Ife Appointed Chairman of Amaranta Oil & Gas Board

His Imperial Majesty, *Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the 51st Ooni of Ife, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of *Amaranta Oil & Gas Development Company Limited.

The appointment comes as Oil Mining Lease 42 (OML 42) enters a new phase of development, with Amaranta positioning itself to play a larger role in Nigeria’s energy sector.

As Board Chairman, the Ooni is expected to provide strategic leadership and oversight as the company advances its plans around the development of the oil asset.

OML 42 is a significant petroleum asset, and its development is expected to have implications for Nigeria’s oil and gas production, investment and broader energy ambitions.

The appointment also adds a new dimension to the Ooni’s public and business engagements, extending his involvement beyond traditional and cultural affairs into the corporate and energy sector.

The development comes at a time when Nigeria is seeking to attract more investment into its oil and gas industry while improving the development of existing petroleum assets.

Amaranta’s latest move therefore places the Ooni at the centre of the company’s board-level leadership as it begins a new chapter in the development of OML 42.
