Savannah James, the wife of NBA superstar LeBron James, has recounted an incident at an Hermès store in Italy where she says a sales associate initially refused to serve her despite having a scheduled appointment.
According to Savannah, the incident took an unexpected turn after the luxury fashion house discovered her identity.
Savannah reportedly said she arrived at the store for her appointment but was told by a saleswoman that she could not be assisted. The situation changed after staff members learned who she was, with the store allegedly offering her VIP treatment and subsequently dismissing the employee involved.
The account has sparked discussion online about customer service, discrimination and the way luxury retailers treat customers based on their perceived status.
Savannah, who is known for her fashion and business ventures, has frequently appeared alongside LeBron at major events and has developed her own public profile beyond her husband’s basketball career.
The alleged incident also raises questions about the experience of shoppers in high-end luxury stores, where access to exclusive products and personalised service can sometimes depend heavily on relationships and customer profiles.
Neither Hermès nor the saleswoman involved has been independently confirmed as having publicly commented on Savannah’s account at the time of reporting.
