Tinubu Orders Security Chiefs to Hunt Down Killers Behind Kasuwan Daji Attack in Niger State

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a firm directive to Nigeria’s top security leadership to track down and arrest those responsible for the deadly attack on Kasuwan Daji community in Niger State.

In a statement released on Sunday by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President instructed the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.

President Tinubu described the attack as a direct challenge to the nation’s resolve, stressing that the assailants would face the full weight of the law. He warned that no individual or group involved in the violence, including those who support or enable such acts, would escape accountability.

According to the President, security agencies must also prioritise the immediate rescue of women and children abducted during the assault. He emphasised that the safety of citizens remains a top priority of his administration.

The directive followed the killing of several villagers in the Kasuwan Daji area by terrorists believed to be fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara states after a United States air strike carried out on Christmas Eve. The attackers reportedly targeted the rural community, leaving casualties and abducting vulnerable residents.

President Tinubu strongly condemned the violence, describing it as a senseless act of terror against innocent Nigerians. He expressed deep sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives and extended his condolences to the government and people of Niger State.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening national security and ensuring that criminal elements have no safe haven anywhere in the country.
