Nigerian streamer, comedian and content creator Carter Efe has lost his TikTok account after the platform permanently banned the page over repeated violations of its community guidelines.
The account, which had grown to more than 5.6 million followers and over 158 million likes, was removed on September 9, 2026. It had become one of Carter Efe’s biggest platforms for sharing comedy content, promoting music and interacting with fans through livestreams.
TikTok reportedly confirmed the permanent ban, citing multiple breaches of its policies. However, the platform has not publicly disclosed the specific violations that led to the latest action.
This is not the first time Carter Efe has lost a TikTok account. In June 2025, the platform removed another account belonging to the creator, which had approximately 3.5 million followers at the time. The earlier ban came amid controversy over comments he made about Afrobeats star Wizkid during a livestream. Carter Efe later apologised and returned to TikTok, eventually rebuilding his audience to more than 5.6 million followers.
The latest ban therefore represents another major setback for the entertainer, who had once again built a huge audience on the platform.
News of the permanent ban quickly sparked reactions across social media, with some fans expressing disbelief that an account with millions of followers could disappear.
Some users also raised concerns about creators becoming heavily dependent on social media platforms they do not control, pointing out that years of audience growth can be lost when an account is suspended or permanently removed.
Carter Efe, however, remains active on other platforms, including livestreaming, giving him alternative ways to maintain contact with his audience. For now, it remains unclear whether Carter Efe will appeal the decision or whether TikTok will reconsider the permanent ban.
