Abia Governor Otti Approves ₦31 Million for 31 Returnees From South Africa

Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has approved the immediate disbursement of ₦1 million each to 31 verified returnees of Abia State origin who recently returned to Nigeria from South Africa.

The intervention amounts to a total of ₦31 million and is aimed at supporting the returnees as they settle back into life in the state.

The beneficiaries were reportedly verified as indigenes of Abia following their return from South Africa. The governor’s approval is expected to provide immediate financial assistance to the affected individuals as they begin the process of rebuilding their lives.

The development forms part of the state government’s broader efforts to support Abia indigenes returning from abroad and provide assistance to residents facing difficult circumstances.

Governor Otti has repeatedly emphasised the importance of empowering citizens and creating opportunities that can help people become economically self-reliant.

The ₦1 million intervention will give each of the 31 returnees some financial support to meet immediate needs and potentially begin rebuilding their livelihoods after returning to the state.

The latest approval brings the total government commitment to the beneficiaries to ₦31 million, underscoring the administration’s focus on providing direct assistance to Abians in need.
