President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received an official invitation from the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, to attend the 10th Future Investment Initiative (FII), scheduled to take place in Riyadh in October 2026.
The invitation was delivered on Friday by the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nigeria, Yousef Albalawi, during a meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
According to a statement shared by the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Nigeria on its official X account, Ambassador Albalawi presented the invitation on behalf of the Saudi Crown Prince, inviting the Nigerian leader to participate in one of the world’s leading global investment forums.
President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the Saudi leadership for the invitation and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The President also praised the growing cooperation between both nations, noting that bilateral relations have continued to expand across several strategic sectors, including investment, trade, and economic development.
He conveyed his sincere appreciation to the Saudi government and commended the strong diplomatic and economic ties that have continued to flourish between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia over the years.
The Future Investment Initiative (FII) is Saudi Arabia’s flagship international investment conference, widely recognized as the “Davos in the Desert” because of its global influence in shaping conversations around investment, innovation, and economic transformation.
Organized annually by the Future Investment Initiative Institute, a non-profit organization based in Riyadh, the conference brings together heads of state, government officials, global investors, business executives, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and technology leaders to explore emerging opportunities and address key global economic challenges.
The upcoming 10th edition of the summit marks a significant milestone since the initiative was launched in 2017 as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to diversify its economy beyond oil and position the Kingdom as a global investment destination.
This year’s conference is expected to focus on several high-impact sectors, including artificial intelligence, digital transformation, energy transition, climate resilience, healthcare innovation, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure development, and strategies for mobilizing global capital to support sustainable economic growth.
President Tinubu’s invitation highlights Nigeria’s growing engagement with international investment partners and underscores the importance of strengthening economic cooperation between Africa’s largest economy and one of the Middle East’s leading investment hubs.
The participation of the Nigerian President at the high-profile forum is expected to provide an opportunity to deepen bilateral relations, attract foreign investment, and explore new partnerships capable of supporting Nigeria’s economic growth and development agenda.
