Nigerian sprint sensation Tobi Amusan delivered another outstanding performance on Sunday after winning the women’s 100m hurdles at the Rabat Diamond League meeting in Morocco, securing her first Diamond League victory of the 2026 season in dominant style.
The world record holder stormed to the finish line in an impressive time of 12.28 seconds, equalling her season’s best while comfortably outperforming a strong field of international competitors.
Amusan’s remarkable run also saw her break her own meeting record at the Rabat Diamond League, surpassing the previous mark of 12.45 seconds which she set at the same venue in 2025.
The 29-year-old Nigerian athlete looked sharp and composed throughout the race, reinforcing her status as one of the world’s leading hurdlers ahead of major global athletics championships later this year.
Bahamian athlete Devynne Charlton finished in second place with a time of 12.40 seconds, while Dutch hurdler Nadine Visser claimed third position after crossing the line in 12.47 seconds.
The victory earned Amusan maximum points on the Diamond League circuit and marked another major milestone in her already impressive athletics career.
Her latest triumph continues a strong comeback season for the Nigerian star, who has consistently shown signs of returning to peak form with a series of strong performances on the international stage.
Fans and athletics analysts have praised Amusan’s speed, technique, and consistency, with many believing she remains one of the top contenders for gold medals at upcoming global competitions.
As the 2026 athletics season progresses, Amusan’s record-breaking performance in Rabat is expected to boost confidence among Nigerian sports fans and further strengthen her reputation as one of Africa’s greatest track and field athletes.
