China has expressed readiness to deepen military communication and strengthen trust with the United States, emphasizing the importance of stable defense relations between the two global powers.
A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense, Jiang Bin, made the statement on Monday while responding to questions from the media regarding recent interactions between the leaders of both countries. According to him, Beijing is prepared to work closely with Washington to ensure the steady and long-term development of a stable and constructive military-to-military relationship.
Jiang noted that a healthy and predictable defense relationship between China and the United States serves the interests of both nations and is also widely expected by the international community. He stressed that improving military dialogue is essential for reducing misunderstandings and managing potential tensions.
He further explained that the Chinese military is committed to implementing the consensus reached at the leadership level between both countries. This includes respecting each side’s core interests, maintaining open communication channels, and addressing disagreements through dialogue rather than confrontation.
According to the spokesperson, both sides should focus on building mutual trust, clarifying concerns, and preventing misjudgments that could escalate tensions. He added that sustained engagement between the two militaries would help guide the relationship “on the right track” and contribute to broader global peace and stability.
The remarks come at a time when relations between China and the United States remain complex, with cooperation and competition existing side by side across economic, technological, and security domains. Military communication has often been seen as a critical channel for preventing misunderstandings between the world’s two largest military powers.
Beijing’s latest statement signals a willingness to maintain dialogue and reduce friction, particularly in defense interactions that are often sensitive and closely watched internationally.
As both nations continue to navigate strategic competition, the emphasis on military-to-military engagement reflects ongoing efforts to keep communication open and avoid escalation in an increasingly uncertain global security environment.
