Tinubu: Nigeria Has Finished Making Sacrifices, Things Will Get Better

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians not to lose hope, saying the country is on the right path and that the difficult period of sacrifices will give way to peace, development and better conditions.

Tinubu made the remarks in a message delivered by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, who represented the President at a special Juma’at prayer session at the National Mosque in Abuja on Friday, September 25, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

According to the President’s message, Nigeria has made significant sacrifices in its journey toward becoming a stronger nation, and citizens should remain hopeful about the country’s future.

“I want to categorically make it clear that Nigeria is on the right path. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Nigeria has finished making sacrifices for this country to be great again,” Abbas quoted Tinubu as saying.

The President also assured Nigerians that peace and development would return, saying, “Things will get better as we progress in this democracy.” He urged citizens not to lose hope despite the challenges the country continues to face.

Tinubu said his administration was working to address what he described as cumulative mistakes and missed opportunities from previous governments. He also asked Nigerians to give his government more opportunity to complete the programmes and reforms it has started.

The President described Nigeria’s 66 years of independence as a significant milestone, acknowledging that the country’s journey has included both challenges and opportunities.

The remarks come as Nigerians prepare to mark the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1. The government has continued to present its ongoing reforms as part of efforts to address longstanding economic and institutional challenges.
