Andrew Yaffe, the first-ever CEO of popular YouTube sports and entertainment brand Dude Perfect, is stepping down from his position after nearly two years at the company.
Yaffe joined Dude Perfect in October 2024 after previously working as an executive at the NBA. He was brought in to help transform the creator-led brand into a larger entertainment and media company.
Dude Perfect and Yaffe described the departure as a mutual decision, saying they developed different perspectives on the company’s next phase and the best direction for the business.
A joint statement said that after two years of strong growth, the company and Yaffe agreed that the time was right for new leadership. Yaffe also appeared to signal that he is moving on to something new, writing on LinkedIn that he was proud of what the team accomplished and that there would be “more” from him soon.
Yaffe took over at a significant moment for Dude Perfect. The company had recently secured more than $100 million in funding from Highmount Capital, giving the brand resources to expand beyond its traditional YouTube business.
During Yaffe’s tenure, Dude Perfect expanded its business operations, including partnerships with major brands such as Disney, State Farm, BODYARMOR and McDonald’s.
The company also launched new projects, expanded its merchandise and children’s book businesses, and developed its live entertainment operations.
Patrick Hurley, a principal at BP Capital Fund Advisors and an adviser to Dude Perfect, will serve as interim CEO. The company has also begun searching for a permanent replacement for Yaffe.
Dude Perfect, founded in 2009 by five college friends, has grown from a trick-shot YouTube channel into a major sports and entertainment brand with more than 60 million YouTube subscribers.
The group has also explored larger ventures, including plans for a Dude Perfect-themed entertainment attraction in Texas, although that project has yet to materialize. Yaffe’s departure therefore marks a significant leadership change for the company as it decides what comes next for a brand that has grown far beyond its original YouTube roots.
