AfD’s Alice Weidel Unveils Tough 100-Day Migration Plan

Alice Weidel, co-leader of Germany’s right-wing political party Alternative for Germany (AfD), has reignited debate over immigration policy after outlining a hardline migration agenda she says would be implemented within the first 100 days of taking office.

Weidel’s proposed strategy centers on three major policy actions: tightening border controls, ending certain financial support systems for migrants, and launching what she describes as Germany’s largest deportation operation.

Her remarks come as immigration continues to dominate political discussions in Germany, with rising public concern around border management, asylum systems, housing pressures, and social welfare spending.

According to Weidel, the AfD’s migration plan would begin with the immediate closure of Germany’s borders to unauthorized migration. The proposal includes stricter border enforcement measures aimed at preventing irregular entries and turning back migrants who do not meet legal entry requirements.

A second major pillar of the plan involves changes to migrant welfare support. Weidel has proposed replacing direct cash assistance for migrants with more limited forms of in-kind support, such as food, accommodation, and other basic necessities.

Supporters of the policy argue that this could reduce incentives for irregular migration while lowering the financial burden on the state. The most controversial element of her 100-day agenda is a pledge to carry out large-scale deportations targeting individuals without valid legal residency status or approved asylum claims.

Germany remains bound by EU migration frameworks and international refugee conventions, which place legal limits on deportation practices, asylum processing, and border procedures.
