Anthony Joshua Moves £150 Million Business Empire from the UK to Dubai

Former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua has officially relocated his £150 million business empire from the United Kingdom to Dubai, marking a major shift in both his personal and professional base.

Corporate filings recently submitted for two of Joshua’s companies confirm that the British-Nigerian boxing star is now officially resident in the United Arab Emirates. The documents, reported by the Daily Mail, show that the UAE is now listed as his country of residence for regulatory purposes.

The filings relate to Joshua’s companies, Sparta Promotions Limited and 258 Investments Limited. Under corporate rules, directors are required to disclose their country of residence, and the updated paperwork confirms the boxer’s move to the Gulf state.

Dubai has increasingly become a hub for wealthy athletes, entrepreneurs and celebrities due to its attractive tax structure and lifestyle advantages. One of its biggest draws is the absence of personal income tax, which can significantly reduce the financial burden for high-earning individuals.

Joshua’s earnings in recent years highlight the financial implications of such a move. In 2024, he reportedly declared dividend payments of £10.1 million, following £6.3 million in dividends in 2023—income that would normally be subject to taxation in the United Kingdom. His promotional company, Sparta Promotions, also posted profits of £20.396 million in 2024 and paid £6.65 million in UK corporate tax during the same period.

The boxer’s connection to Dubai is not new. Joshua has frequently spent time in the emirate over the years, using its world-class sporting facilities for training camps while also visiting for holidays and commercial appearances linked to the global brands he represents.

His relocation places him among a growing number of wealthy British figures who have chosen to move their financial base overseas. Among them are Jim Ratcliffe and Stelios Haji-Ioannou, both of whom reside in Monaco.

Confirmation of Joshua’s move also came from a family member. His uncle, Adedamola Joshua, told Punch Newspapers that the relocation had taken place several months earlier.

Born in Watford to Nigerian parents, Joshua rose to international prominence after winning gold for Great Britain Olympic boxing team at the 2012 London Olympics. He later became a two-time heavyweight world champion and one of the most recognizable names in global boxing.

His decision to relocate signals a new chapter for the boxing star, shifting his personal and business operations to the Middle East. Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region, including broader conflicts involving Iran, Dubai continues to attract high-profile international athletes seeking financial advantages and a global lifestyle hub.

For Joshua, the move represents both a strategic financial decision and a lifestyle change as he expands his global business footprint beyond the United Kingdom.
