iShowSpeed Says Ghana Feels Like Home as He Reveals Plans to Buy a House in the Country

Popular American streamer iShowSpeed has revealed that Ghana will be one of the African countries where he plans to buy a home, describing the West African nation as a place that instantly felt like home the moment he arrived.

The internet sensation made the revelation during a livestream in Ghana, explaining that he deliberately waited until the final stretch of his Africa tour before sharing the news. According to Speed, Ghana had already captured his interest long before his arrival, thanks in part to his longtime bodyguard Rudi, who is Ghanaian.

Speed said Rudi often spoke passionately about Ghana, painting it as the perfect escape with stunning scenery, especially outside the busy city areas. That description alone, he admitted, was enough to spark his curiosity and plant the idea of owning a home there.

Beyond the recommendations, Speed revealed that his connection to Ghana runs deeper. He said he had already discovered through his ancestry that he has strong Ghanaian roots, a realization that made his visit even more meaningful. Once he finally set foot in the country, those feelings were confirmed almost instantly.

“I’m back home—my mother is actually Ghanaian,” the streamer told viewers during the livestream, expressing an emotional sense of belonging.

The announcement has since generated excitement among fans across Africa and the diaspora, many of whom praised Speed for openly embracing his heritage and investing in the continent beyond tourism. His decision also adds to a growing list of global celebrities and influencers choosing Ghana as a base or second home, drawn by its culture, stability, and natural beauty.

For iShowSpeed, the choice appears to be both personal and emotional—a blend of ancestry, firsthand experience, and a feeling of homecoming that made Ghana stand out as more than just another stop on his African journey.
