Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is accelerating his expansion into film and television production with a major new investment in Louisiana. Just weeks after unveiling the new G-Unit Film and TV Studio headquarters in the state, the rapper and media mogul has finalized a $124 million development deal to build and redevelop multiple entertainment venues in Shreveport.
Louisiana officials confirmed on Monday that Jackson’s company has reached a finalized agreement for a wide-ranging investment and redevelopment plan aimed at transforming key production and event spaces in the city.
The project includes the renovation of the Stageworks venue, upgrades to a former Millennium Studios production campus, and the construction of a new dome-style immersive entertainment venue alongside a green space park.
According to the Louisiana Economic Development office, the state will support the project with $50 million in performance-based funding dedicated to infrastructure improvements at the sites. The initiative is expected to significantly boost Shreveport’s profile as a hub for film, television, and live entertainment.
In a statement, Jackson said the project goes beyond bricks and mortar, emphasizing its impact on the local community and the broader entertainment industry. He noted that reinvesting in downtown Shreveport and modernizing existing facilities would create jobs, attract new productions, and give creatives a compelling reason to build long-term careers in Louisiana.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry also welcomed the announcement, praising the investment as a vote of confidence in the region. He said the state is proud to support a project that recognizes the strength, talent, and untapped potential of Shreveport and its surrounding communities.
The deal marks another milestone in 50 Cent’s transition from music icon to entertainment powerhouse. With G-Unit Studios continuing to expand its footprint, Louisiana is quickly emerging as a central pillar in Jackson’s vision to build a world-class production ecosystem outside of Hollywood.
