Ukrainian defense units have intercepted and neutralized a Russian Shahed-136 kamikaze drone, which ultimately crashed into the sea, according to confirmed military sources.

The drone, one of many deployed in Moscow’s ongoing aerial campaign, was detected and tracked by Ukrainian air defense before being brought down safely offshore.

The Shahed-136, an Iranian-designed loitering munition widely used by Russian forces, has become a recurring threat in Ukraine’s skies.

These drones are typically deployed to strike infrastructure and civilian targets. However, today’s successful interception highlights Ukraine’s increasing effectiveness in neutralizing such aerial threats.

Military analysts say the interception demonstrates the growing sophistication and coordination of Ukraine’s defense systems, especially as Kyiv continues to bolster its air defense capabilities with international support.
