In a high-stakes counterterrorism operation overnight, Israel’s elite Yamam special forces, in coordination with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), eliminated the head of a suspected terror network in the West Bank town of Tamun.
The raid, part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to dismantle militant infrastructure in the region, also resulted in the capture of two additional operatives linked to the group.
According to Israeli defense officials, the operation was launched following intelligence indicating the target’s involvement in planning and executing attacks against Israeli civilians and security personnel.

The identity of the deceased militant leader has not been publicly disclosed, but he was described as a high-ranking operative responsible for coordinating terror activity in northern Samaria. No casualties were reported among Israeli forces.

This operation comes amid heightened tensions in the West Bank, where recent months have seen an uptick in violence and security incidents. Israel has intensified its military presence in the region, targeting what it says are active terror cells affiliated with various Palestinian factions.
The Israeli government reaffirmed its commitment to preemptive security measures, stating that operations like this will continue as long as threats persist. The situation remains tense, with officials warning of potential retaliatory attacks and further instability in the West Bank.
