Russian President Vladimir Putin has intensified his criticism of the West, accusing Western elites of engineering a “bloody coup” in Ukraine.
In his latest remarks, Putin claimed that foreign interference in Ukraine’s political affairs led to chaos and bloodshed, framing the 2014 uprising as a calculated effort by Western powers to destabilize the region and install a government favorable to their interest.
The Russian leader has long maintained that the unrest in Ukraine was not a grassroots movement but rather the result of covert operations and influence by the United States and its allies. These fresh comments come amid ongoing hostilities in eastern Ukraine and increased global scrutiny of Russia’s military actions.

Putin’s statements are likely to escalate tensions further between Moscow and NATO members, who have consistently rejected Russia’s narrative and supported Ukraine’s sovereignty. The West, in turn, continues to impose sanctions and supply military aid to Kyiv, accusing Moscow of violating international law and fueling conflict.
