Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, alongside the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has commissioned the new global headquarters of CapitalSage Holdings in Ibadan.
The commissioning ceremony, held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, also marked the company’s 10th anniversary, bringing together traditional rulers, government officials, business leaders, investors and other industry stakeholders.
The new headquarters, known as CapitalSage House, is located along Kenneth Dike Road, Secretariat Road, in Ibadan.
Founded by John Alamu, the company reportedly began its journey with an initial capital of just ₦100,000. Over the past decade, it has grown into a diversified business group comprising approximately 20 companies. Its operations span several sectors, including financial services and technology, agriculture and food processing, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, e-commerce and cross-border payment solutions.
Speaking at the event, Alamu described the headquarters opening as an important milestone in the company’s growth and its ambition to build globally competitive businesses from Nigeria. He said the group’s next decade would focus on building stronger and more sustainable businesses capable of creating lasting value for future generations.
Governor Seyi Makinde congratulated the company’s founder and management team, praising their entrepreneurial drive and contribution to economic development. He stressed that Nigeria’s natural resources alone could not guarantee economic prosperity without entrepreneurship, innovation, skills development and increased production.
Makinde also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting businesses through improved security, investment facilitation and policies that encourage private-sector growth. He noted that having a growing business group headquartered in Ibadan could create employment opportunities, attract investments and stimulate economic activities across Oyo State.
The establishment of CapitalSage Holdings’ global headquarters in Ibadan represents another development in the city’s growing business landscape.
Makinde expressed confidence that Ibadan could compete with Lagos in attracting major investments if the state continued to strengthen entrepreneurship, human capital development and productive enterprise.
As CapitalSage Holdings enters its second decade, the company says it intends to expand its businesses, strengthen partnerships and contribute further to economic growth across Nigeria and other markets. The anniversary celebration also featured a three-day exhibition from October 29 to 31, 2026, allowing members of the public to explore the group’s businesses, products and services.
