Photos have emerged following the rescue of 20 prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who were abducted along the Owerri–Onitsha Road in Imo State on October 1.
The graduates, who were travelling from Ibadan to their NYSC orientation camps, were rescued on October 7 after spending several days in captivity. They were recovered at Amakohia Ubi Village, Imo State, following sustained operations by security agencies.
The rescued victims have since been taken for medical assessment and necessary care. The NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, also visited them at the DSS facility in Owerri.
Security agencies are continuing efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible for the abduction.
