Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been honoured as a Christian Youth Peace Ambassador by the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN).
The recognition was presented on Friday during the 2026 National Christian Youth Security Summit and Thanksgiving Service held in Abuja. The three-day summit is focused on youth leadership, national security, peace-building and nation-building.
Seyi Tinubu was not present at the ceremony. Ambassador Belusochukwu Enwere received the honour on his behalf.
In his message of appreciation, Tinubu described the recognition as a call to greater service and responsibility. He expressed appreciation to YOWICAN for the honour and pledged to continue supporting initiatives focused on youth development, peace-building, national unity and positive social impact.
Tinubu said peace goes beyond simply having no conflict, arguing that it requires justice, compassion, tolerance, mutual respect and a collective commitment to the common good.
He also encouraged Nigerian youths to play a more active role in building a united country where religious, ethnic and cultural differences become sources of strength rather than division. “Together, let us choose peace, promote love and build a Nigeria where every young person can dream, contribute and prosper,” he said.
The recognition came as YOWICAN brought together Christian youths and other stakeholders for discussions around national security, responsible leadership and peaceful coexistence.
The summit, held at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, also featured a historic peace accord between Christian and Muslim youth groups ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections. The event was held under the theme “Empowered for Leadership, Service and Nation Building.”
Tinubu also commended YOWICAN for its efforts to promote responsible youth leadership, community development and peaceful coexistence across Nigeria.
