Camron Jones Cast as Tupac in Upcoming Snoop Dogg Biopic

Actor Camron Jones has been cast to portray legendary rapper Tupac Shakur in the upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic, titled Snoop. The Universal Pictures film, directed by Craig Brewer, will chronicle Snoop Dogg’s rise from Long Beach, California, to becoming one of hip-hop’s biggest stars.

Jones, known for his roles in Panic, Grown-ish, The Purge and Shameless, will take on the role of Tupac, who shared a close relationship with Snoop during their time at Death Row Records. The two rappers famously collaborated on tracks including 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted.

Jones joins a growing cast that includes Jonathan Daviss as Snoop Dogg, Myles Bullock as Dr. Dre, Algee Smith as Warren G, Tre Hale as Suge Knight and Lauren London as Snoop’s late mother, Beverly Tate.

The film is being produced by Snoop Dogg alongside Brian Grazer, Sara Ramaker and Allan Mandelbaum. The biopic is currently scheduled to hit cinemas on August 6, 2027.

With Tupac, Dr. Dre, Warren G and Suge Knight all being portrayed in the film, Snoop is shaping up to revisit one of the most influential eras in West Coast hip-hop.
