Nigerian Man Arrested in Los Angeles by ICE Over Alleged Sexual Offences

A 53-year-old Nigerian national, Olatunde Abiodun Olusanjo, has been arrested in Los Angeles by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as part of ongoing enforcement actions targeting individuals with prior criminal records.

According to officials, Olusanjo was apprehended on April 21, 2026, by the agency’s Enforcement and Removal Operations unit and is currently being held in custody pending deportation proceedings. Authorities say the arrest is connected to previous allegations involving serious offences, including child molestation, sexual battery, and solicitation of lewd conduct.

In a statement shared by ICE’s Los Angeles office, the agency described him as a “criminal alien and convicted sex offender,” noting that his record includes multiple prior arrests. The case is now being processed under U.S. immigration laws, which allow for the detention and removal of foreign nationals with certain criminal backgrounds.

The arrest highlights continued efforts by U.S. authorities to enforce immigration regulations, particularly in cases involving individuals accused or convicted of serious crimes. It also reflects a broader trend in recent years, where foreign nationals—including some Nigerians—have faced prosecution in the United States for offences ranging from cybercrime to violent and sexual-related charges.

While legal proceedings continue, the case serves as a reminder of the strict enforcement environment surrounding immigration and criminal conduct in the U.S., as well as the potential consequences for non-citizens found in violation of the law.
