Former adult film actress and media personality Mia Khalifa has revealed that she received threats from ISIS and was subsequently banned from parts of the Middle East, despite what she says is strong viewership of her content across Muslim-majority countries.
Khalifa made the disclosure during a recent interview in which she reflected on the long-term consequences of her brief time in the adult entertainment industry. According to her, extremist groups targeted her with threats, forcing her to live with heightened security concerns and effectively cutting her off from traveling to several countries in the region.
She described the situation as deeply ironic, noting that while she faced bans and threats, audiences in Muslim countries continued to consume her content more than anywhere else in the world. Khalifa said this contradiction highlights broader issues of hypocrisy, online anonymity, and the disproportionate punishment women often face for public visibility.
The Lebanese-American influencer has repeatedly spoken about the lasting personal and professional impact of her past career, including harassment, safety risks, and cultural backlash. In the interview, she reiterated that the threats she received were real and traumatic, shaping many of her decisions in the years that followed.
