The Israeli military has stated that it carried out an extensive campaign of air and ground operations across several Middle Eastern territories throughout 2025, marking one of its most intense years of military activity in recent history.
According to a statement released by the Israeli army’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, the military conducted approximately 20,900 airstrikes and around 430 additional operations during the year. These actions reportedly spanned Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and the occupied West Bank, an area Israel officially refers to as Judea and Samaria.
In a post shared on X on Wednesday, December 31, Adraee said the operations were carried out across multiple fronts as part of Israel’s broader security strategy. He noted that the Gaza Strip was a central focus of the campaign, with the Israeli military claiming its objective was to significantly weaken Hamas’ military capabilities.
The army alleged that its operations in Gaza resulted in the deaths of 19,530 Palestinians over the course of the year. It further claimed that nearly 13,910 locations identified as militant infrastructure were destroyed, while roughly 270 weapons storage facilities were struck during air and ground attacks.
The Israeli military also stated that several senior Hamas figures were killed in targeted assassinations during the operations. Among those named were Muhammad Sinwar, Muhammad Shabana, Abdullah Abu Shamala, and Raed Saad, whom Israel identified as key leaders within the group.
The scale and geographic spread of the reported operations underscore the widening scope of Israel’s military engagements in 2025, extending beyond Gaza to multiple countries and territories across the region. The claims, released through official Israeli military channels, continue to draw international attention amid ongoing debates over regional security, civilian impact, and the broader consequences of prolonged conflict in the Middle East.
