A deadly suicide bombing outside a district courthouse in Islamabad has left at least 12 people dead and nearly 30 others injured, according to Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi. The attacker reportedly attempted to enter the courthouse but was stopped by security personnel before detonating the explosive device near the entrance.

Minister Naqvi confirmed that an investigation is underway to identify the bomber and uncover those responsible for orchestrating the attack. “Authorities will prioritize identifying the attacker, and those involved will be brought to justice,” he stated, condemning the assault as a cowardly act targeting innocent civilians.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has accused extremist groups “actively backed by India” of being behind the attack. “Such acts of terror will not deter Pakistan’s resolve to fight extremism,” Sharif said in a statement.

However, a spokesperson for the Indian government dismissed the allegations, calling them “baseless and unfounded,” and reiterated that India had no role in the incident.

The bombing marks one of the deadliest attacks in Pakistan’s capital in recent months, raising fresh concerns over the resurgence of militant activity. Security forces have since tightened measures across Islamabad and other major cities as the country mourns the victims and vows to strengthen counterterrorism efforts.
