Russia launched a large-scale drone and missile attack on Ukraine overnight on Saturday, leaving at least three people dead and causing significant damage to energy infrastructure across multiple regions, according to Ukrainian officials.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that Russia fired more than 450 drones and 45 missiles in the coordinated assault. The strikes targeted several regions, including Kyiv, Poltava, and Kharkiv, severely damaging key energy facilities.
In the city of Dnipro, two people were killed and twelve others injured when a drone struck a residential apartment building. Meanwhile, regional authorities confirmed that another person lost their life in the Kharkiv region following similar attacks.
Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported that critical energy facilities in Kyiv, Poltava, and Kharkiv were hit, disrupting power supply in parts of the country.
The latest assault marks one of the most intense attacks in recent weeks, highlighting Russia’s continued targeting of Ukraine’s energy and civilian infrastructure ahead of winter. Ukrainian officials have condemned the attacks as war crimes, calling for stronger international support and air defense reinforcements.
