A Nigerian lady has sparked conversations online after expressing frustration over the low pay offers she receives from Nigerians living in the United Kingdom for video editing jobs.
In a viral post, she questioned whether Nigerians abroad are truly struggling financially, after one client reportedly offered her ₦50,000 (about £25) to edit 16 videos — an offer she described as “insulting.”
According to her, “Are Nigerians living in the UK broke? Because how would you tell me to edit 16 videos in a month for ₦50k? Do they need help? They give me ridiculous prices and make it look like they’re doing us a favour.”
Her outburst has triggered a wide range of reactions on social media, with many creatives in Nigeria and abroad sharing similar experiences of being undervalued by clients who expect professional work for extremely low fees.
