President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed confidence in Nigeria’s economic resilience amid recent remarks from U.S. President Donald Trump about potential action against the country.
Speaking on the state of the economy, President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that the nation has nothing to fear as long as oil revenue remains stable and productive.
“If our oil revenue is going well, then we have no fear of whatever Trump is doing on the other side,” Tinubu stated.
His comment comes in the wake of growing international attention following President Trump’s warning about possible U.S. intervention over reported extremist violence in Nigeria.
Tinubu’s statement is seen as a move to calm public tension and reinforce confidence in the country’s economic backbone — crude oil, which remains Nigeria’s largest source of foreign income.
