A retired Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) has sparked public outrage after revealing how security officers allegedly helped corrupt politicians conceal stolen public funds during his time in service.

Speaking in a viral video, the retired officer openly expressed regret over his involvement, disclosing that police officers often escorted politicians after they looted public money, only to be neglected after retirement.

“We are the ones that escort politicians after they stole public money. We follow them to hide the money in their villages. Now, to pay us our entitlement is an issue,” he said.

His confession has stirred intense reactions across social media, as many Nigerians condemned the systemic corruption that has plagued the nation for decades. Others sympathized with the ex-officer’s frustration, noting how retired security personnel often face neglect despite years of service.

The statement highlights the deep-rooted challenges within Nigeria’s political and security systems — where corruption, lack of accountability, and poor welfare continue to erode public trust.
