Tension erupted at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) after the Vice Chancellor reportedly ordered the arrest of some final-year students who violated school regulations during their sign-out celebration.

According to reports, the students were apprehended for wearing white T-shirts during their sign-out, an act that has been officially banned by the institution. The management had earlier cautioned graduating students against the use of white shirts and markers for signing out, citing concerns about indecent dressing, unruly behavior, and security risks associated with the tradition.

However, some students allegedly defied the directive, leading to the intervention of campus security and the subsequent arrest order from the Vice Chancellor. Videos circulating online show a tense atmosphere on campus as security personnel confronted the celebrating students.
