A grieving widow has cried out to Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, following the brutal killing of her husband and several others in Oke Ede, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state. The community was thrown into mourning after suspected bandits stormed Okeode on Sunday, unleashing terror and leaving many families devastated.
Reports confirm that eleven Forest Guards and a community head, who had been mobilized alongside local vigilantes to protect the area, were ambushed and gunned down by the assailants. The attack has heightened fear among residents, who now live under constant threat of violence despite ongoing security measures.
In a heartfelt reaction, Governor AbdulRazaq expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, describing it as a painful loss for both the community and the entire state. He reassured residents of his administration’s determination to end criminal activities, while also calling for urgent reinforcement of security personnel across the state to combat the wave of banditry.
The Okeode killings have once again drawn attention to the growing challenge of insecurity in rural communities across Nigeria, with many citizens demanding stronger government action to safeguard lives and restore peace.
