President Donald Trump on Friday hailed Poland’s new conservative president, Karol Nawrocki, as a “great new leader” and pledged deeper U.S. military support for the Eastern European nation.

Speaking during Nawrocki’s visit to the White House, Trump said he was proud to have endorsed the Polish leader ahead of his election victory. “Great new leader. I was so happy, I endorsed him, and he won. And he’s going to be a great leader of Poland,” Trump told reporters, underscoring his close ties to Warsaw’s new government.

The U.S. president emphasized Washington’s strong relationship with Poland, calling it “tremendous,” and vowed to strengthen security cooperation amid ongoing regional tensions. Asked about the future of U.S. forces stationed in Poland, Trump confirmed they would remain and even suggested an expansion. “We’ll put more there if they want,” he said, signaling readiness to increase troop levels.

Nawrocki, a conservative nationalist, received a warm welcome in Washington, complete with a military flyover, in a display of solidarity between the two allies. The meeting highlighted Poland’s importance to U.S. defense strategy in Europe, particularly as Warsaw continues to push for robust security guarantees in the face of Russian aggression.

Trump’s remarks underline his administration’s commitment to reinforcing NATO’s eastern flank and strengthening bilateral ties with Poland under Nawrocki’s leadership.
