Osun Police Arrest Fake Lawyer Who Practiced for 10 Years, Defrauded Clients of ₦50 Million

Police operatives in Osun State have arrested a man posing as a lawyer who allegedly practiced law for over a decade without proper qualifications. The suspect, whose identity his name as Emmanuel is accused of duping unsuspecting clients of more than ₦50 million during his years of fraudulent practice.

According to the Osun State Police Command, the fake lawyer presented himself as a qualified legal practitioner, taking on cases, offering legal advice, and collecting large sums of money from victims who trusted his expertise. Investigations revealed that he had been parading himself as a lawyer for 10 years before law enforcement uncovered his fraudulent activities.

Authorities said the suspect took advantage of vulnerable clients seeking legal representation, exploiting their trust for financial gain. Many of his victims were left without justice while he enriched himself through deceit.

The police confirmed that the man is currently in custody and will face prosecution after investigations are concluded. The Osun State Commissioner of Police has urged residents to remain vigilant and always verify the credentials of legal practitioners before engaging their services.
