President Donald Trump is considering further measures against Venezuela, with the White House warning that every element of American power could be deployed to curb the flow of narcotics into the United States.

Speaking on Thursday, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said that while she would not speculate on potential military strikes, the administration remains committed to counter-drug operations in the Caribbean and Latin America.

“The president is prepared to use every element of American power to stop drugs from flooding into our country and to bring those responsible to justice,” Leavitt said.

She added that Washington’s anti-narcotics campaign has gained support from several Caribbean nations and regional partners.

Leavitt also reiterated the administration’s stance on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, describing his government as illegitimate.

“The Maduro regime is not the legitimate government of Venezuela. It is a narco-terror cartel. Maduro is not a legitimate president. He is a fugitive head of this drug cartel,” she said.

Earlier this month, the Trump administration doubled its bounty for information leading to Maduro’s arrest, offering up to $50 million in connection with U.S. narcotics trafficking charges.

The comments come as U.S. warships continue operations in the Caribbean, intensifying speculation about possible military escalation against Venezuela.
