Russian forces have targeted civilian infrastructure once again, this time striking an Intercity+ passenger train scheduled to run on the Kyiv–Kharkiv route, Ukrainian Railways confirmed on Wednesday.

The attack caused damage to the high-speed Intercity+ fleet, with one train significantly affected. A fire broke out at the facility but was swiftly extinguished. Authorities emphasized that no casualties or injuries were recorded among railway employees.

Despite the strike, Ukrainian Railways assured passengers that travel services will not be canceled. Replacement rolling stock has been deployed, though delays may occur as repair works on damaged infrastructure continue.

In addition, due to destruction at the railway junction in Koziatyn, several trains have been rerouted and are currently operating on modified paths.
