A Chinese defense company has unveiled mobile replicas of the American-made HIMARS rocket artillery system, sparking global attention amid rising military tensions in the region.
Videos circulating on Chinese social media platforms show the company demonstrating moving mockups designed to closely resemble the U.S. launchers.
According to the manufacturer, the replicas are currently being produced in small batches but can be scaled up for wider orders. The firm also stated that it is open to fulfilling customer requests and customizing the systems for training purposes.
The development comes at a sensitive time, as Taiwan recently received its first delivery of U.S.-supplied HIMARS systems. Analysts suggest the Chinese replica program could serve multiple purposes, including military training, strategic deception exercises, and potential sales to foreign partners seeking cost-effective alternatives for simulation.

While the replicas are not believed to carry live operational capabilities, their resemblance to actual HIMARS units underscores China’s continued interest in mirroring and countering advanced Western defense technology.
This move further highlights the growing competition between Beijing and Washington in the defense sector, with the HIMARS system—widely used by U.S. forces and supplied to allies—emerging as a symbolic centerpiece in modern warfare strategies.
