An EasyJet flight en route from Luton to Glasgow was forced to make an emergency landing on Sunday after a passenger sparked panic by repeatedly shouting “Allahu Akbar” and claiming he had a bomb on board. The flight, identified as EZY609, was just minutes from its scheduled landing when the dramatic incident unfolded, prompting immediate intervention from air traffic control.

The 41-year-old man responsible for the disruption was swiftly removed from the aircraft upon landing at Glasgow Airport. Authorities say he made alarming declarations during the flight, including a claim that he wanted “to send a message” to U.S. President Donald Trump, who is currently visiting Scotland on a five-day trip.

Although the flight was near its destination, protocol required that the aircraft be treated as a potential threat, resulting in a coordinated emergency response. Passengers and crew remained calm during the ordeal, and no injuries were reported.

Following the incident, local police and security teams responded on the ground to detain the suspect and inspect the aircraft. The bomb threat was ultimately deemed non-credible, but the situation has reignited conversations around aviation safety, in-flight security protocols, and the handling of disruptive passengers.

EasyJet released a statement confirming the diversion and commending the flight crew for their professional response under pressure. “The safety and security of our passengers and crew is our highest priority,” the airline stated.

Investigations are ongoing, and the suspect remains in custody as authorities evaluate the nature and intent of his actions.
