Crypto wallet provider Phantom has announced that it will stop supporting the Sui network on September 24, 2026, giving users several weeks to move their assets or swap them into supported tokens.
The decision was reached jointly by Phantom and Sui, according to Phantom. The company said the two projects remain open to exploring other collaborations in the future.
Once support ends, Sui balances will no longer appear in Phantom, and users will no longer be able to send, swap or interact with Sui-based applications through the wallet. However, users will not lose their SUI or other Sui-based assets.
The assets remain recorded on the Sui blockchain and can still be accessed using the wallet’s recovery credentials through another wallet that supports Sui. Phantom has recommended moving the wallet to a compatible application such as Slush, the Sui ecosystem wallet.
Users who prefer to remain within Phantom can also swap their Sui assets into supported assets before the deadline.
Phantom is temporarily waiving its own fee for swaps from native SUI to wrapped SUI on Solana through September 24. However, users may still have to pay network or exchange-related fees.
Other supported assets, including SOL, ETH and USDC, are also available as alternatives, although normal fees may apply.
With a major wallet transition underway, Phantom has warned users to be especially careful about potential phishing attempts.
The company says it will never ask users for their Secret Recovery Phrase or private keys, nor will it contact users offering to move their funds on their behalf. Users should therefore avoid anyone claiming to be Phantom or offering to “help” migrate their funds.
Phantom’s Sui support is ending, but the September 24 deadline does not mean SUI holders will lose their money. Users have two main choices: move their wallet to another Sui-compatible application or swap their Sui assets into a network supported by Phantom.
