Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his longtime partner, Georgina Rodríguez, have reportedly taken the next step in their relationship, with the couple now officially married.
Ronaldo, 41, shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday, posting a photograph of two hands wearing gold wedding rings. The simple image quickly sparked excitement among fans, with reports indicating that the couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Portugal.
Rodríguez, 32, had announced their engagement last year after sharing a photo of her engagement ring on social media. At the time, she accompanied the announcement with a message that translated to, “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.”
The marriage marks a new chapter in a relationship that has attracted global attention since Ronaldo and Rodríguez began dating. The couple have built a family together and are parents to twins Eva Maria and Mateo, as well as their daughters Alana and Bella.
Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr., from a previous relationship, is also part of the family.
Despite being one of the most recognisable athletes in the world, Ronaldo has generally kept major moments in his personal life relatively private. His decision to share the wedding-ring photograph therefore drew significant attention from supporters across social media.
The Portuguese forward, who has enjoyed a remarkable football career spanning Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Al Nassr, is now entering another important chapter away from the pitch alongside Rodríguez.
