Former Pennsylvania State Representative Jesse White has been arrested and charged with child pornography offences after an FBI investigation led to a search of his home in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
According to investigators, the FBI received two separate tips linking suspected child sexual abuse material to White’s mobile phone. Acting on the information, federal agents obtained and executed a search warrant at his residence, where they reportedly seized multiple electronic devices, including computers and hard drives.
Court documents allege that investigators discovered more than 100 files containing child sexual abuse material involving minors believed to be between the ages of seven and fifteen. The evidence was reportedly found across several digital storage devices recovered during the search.
Authorities also stated that White admitted during questioning that he used Telegram, the qBittorrent file-sharing platform, and the Tor browser to access the dark web, where he allegedly searched for and viewed illegal content.
Jesse White, a Democrat, represented parts of Allegheny, Beaver and Washington counties in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2008 to 2014. The case remains under investigation, and White is expected to face legal proceedings in connection with the charges. Under the U.S. justice system, the allegations will be determined in court.
