Nigerian Power Slap heavyweight Kabiru Adediran, widely known by his nickname “Hulk,” has publicly challenged British-Nigerian boxing superstar Anthony Joshua to a fight, saying his ambition is driven by genuine determination rather than a quest for online attention.
Adediran, who has built a growing reputation in the Power Slap competition with his explosive knockout victories, said he has long admired Joshua and considers the former two-time unified heavyweight champion one of his biggest inspirations. Responding to critics who dismissed his challenge, the Nigerian fighter insisted he is serious about stepping into the ring with one of boxing’s biggest names.
Speaking in a mix of Yoruba and Pidgin English, Adediran explained that many people assume his call-out is simply social media content, but he maintained that his desire to fight Joshua is real. He praised Joshua’s achievements, describing him as an exceptional athlete whose accomplishments and physique have earned his respect.
Despite acknowledging Joshua’s status as one of the world’s elite heavyweight boxers, Adediran believes accepting the challenge would be a life-changing opportunity. He said that even if he were defeated, the financial rewards from such a high-profile contest could dramatically improve his circumstances.
According to Adediran, the fight is about more than money. He believes confidence and mental strength have played a major role in his own success in Power Slap, where he has relied on his intimidating presence and powerful striking ability to dominate opponents.
In a separate appeal, the heavyweight fighter directly addressed Joshua, urging him to consider signing a contract for the bout. Adediran revealed that he is currently facing difficult living conditions and described the potential fight as an opportunity that could transform his future.
Before making a name for himself in Power Slap, Adediran began his combat sports journey through amateur boxing and local slap-fighting contests in Nigeria, many of which gained attention on TikTok. His performances eventually earned him a place in the international Power Slap promotion, where he has become known for his devastating striking power and a series of knockout victories that have attracted fans worldwide.
Outside the combat sports arena, Adediran also gained public recognition for previously working as a security aide for Nigerian music star Davido before pursuing his professional fighting career.
While Adediran continues to campaign for the dream matchup, Joshua remains focused on his own boxing schedule. The British-Nigerian heavyweight is preparing for an upcoming clash with Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on July 25. A blockbuster showdown with fellow British heavyweight Tyson Fury is also widely expected later in the year, provided both fighters emerge victorious in their respective bouts.
For now, it remains uncertain whether Joshua will respond to Adediran’s challenge, but the Nigerian Power Slap star has made it clear that he is ready for the opportunity and believes a fight against one of boxing’s biggest names could change his life forever.
