Quando Rondo Released From Prison, Transferred to Atlanta Halfway House

American rapper Quando Rondo has reportedly been transferred from federal prison to a halfway house in Atlanta as he moves closer to completing his sentence in a federal drug conspiracy case.

The rapper, whose real name is Tyquian Bowman, had been serving a 33-month prison sentence after pleading guilty in 2024 to conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana. Reports confirmed that Bowman was released from federal prison and transferred to a residential reentry facility on Monday, June 1, marking a major step toward his full release from federal custody.

Bowman is expected to remain at the Atlanta halfway house while serving the final phase of his sentence, with his official release date reportedly scheduled for Nov. 11.

The case stemmed from federal allegations that initially carried the possibility of a much harsher punishment. Prosecutors had reportedly pursued charges that could have resulted in a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison. However, following a plea agreement, Bowman received a reduced sentence of 33 months along with a $44,000 fine.

The rapper began serving his sentence at Edgefield Federal Correctional Institution in South Carolina before authorities later approved his transfer to the Atlanta reentry facility.

Halfway houses are commonly used to help inmates gradually transition back into society by providing structured supervision, employment support, and reintegration programs before full release. During his sentencing hearing, Bowman addressed the court and expressed regret over the impact of his actions on those closest to him.

“I really want to give an apology to the city of Savannah and to my family and friends, loved ones, and most of all my daughters for taking all my family and all my loved ones through this stressful point,” he said.

The development has sparked reactions across social media, with many fans expressing hope that the rapper will use the experience as a turning point in both his personal life and music career.

Quando Rondo rose to prominence in the hip-hop scene with songs that gained millions of streams and collaborations with several major artists. Despite his legal troubles in recent years, he continues to maintain a loyal fan base eager for his return to music.
