Ferrari has officially stepped into the electric era with the unveiling of its first fully electric vehicle, the Ferrari Luce. Revealed on Monday, the Luce marks a historic shift for the iconic Italian automaker, long celebrated for its roaring combustion engines and Formula 1 heritage.

The Ferrari Luce is not just an EV — it’s a statement. Powered by four electric motors, the new model promises more than 1,000 horsepower, positioning it firmly in hypercar territory. Despite being fully electric, Ferrari is aiming to preserve the performance DNA that defines the brand. The Luce is expected to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, delivering acceleration figures that rival the fastest supercars in the world.
Unlike traditional two-seat Ferraris, the Luce adopts a four-door, four-seat layout, blending practicality with extreme performance. Under the floor sits a substantial 122 kWh battery pack, offering an estimated driving range of around 330 miles on a single charge. Weighing approximately 5,100 pounds, the vehicle balances battery mass with advanced engineering to maintain agility and control.
Inside, Ferrari appears to be blending modern technology with nostalgic design elements. The cabin features physical buttons — a refreshing contrast to the fully touch-sensitive trend dominating many EV interiors.
The steering wheel carries a retro-inspired design, nodding to Ferrari’s racing legacy. Drivers will also find a 10-inch tablet-style infotainment display and a 12.5-inch digital instrument cluster that uniquely incorporates a physical needle within the digital speedometer, merging analog charm with futuristic graphics.
In a move aimed at preserving the emotional feel of driving, the Luce includes paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. These paddles won’t change traditional gears but will instead control torque delivery to simulate gear-shifting sensations — an effort to replicate the tactile engagement Ferrari enthusiasts expect.
The unveiling also comes at a time when electric performance competition is heating up. Meanwhile, Tesla continues development of its next-generation Tesla Roadster, which reportedly features an advanced active aerodynamic system. According to a patent filing, the Roadster could incorporate fan-based airflow technology designed to enhance downforce and potentially create hovering-like aerodynamic effects.
Ferrari’s entrance into the electric vehicle market signals a pivotal transformation not just for the brand, but for the supercar segment as a whole. With the Luce, Ferrari is attempting to prove that electrification does not mean sacrificing soul, speed, or driving emotion.
