Don Jazzy Reveals Mavin Spent Up to $5 Million Promoting Rema’s Global Hit “Calm Down”

Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy has shed new light on the massive investment behind one of Afrobeats’ biggest global successes, revealing that millions of dollars were spent to push Rema’s hit single Calm Down to international prominence.

Speaking during a recent interview with Toolz and Bounce, the celebrated music executive disclosed that the label invested between $4 million and $5 million in promoting the song worldwide. According to Don Jazzy, the financial commitment covered strategic marketing, international promotions, radio campaigns, and positioning the record to compete effectively on the global stage.

Calm Down, which later received a remix featuring Selena Gomez, went on to become one of the most successful Afrobeats songs in history. The track dominated charts across multiple countries, earned billions of streams, and helped solidify Rema’s status as a global music star.
