Governor Dapo Abiodun has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining Ogun State’s long-standing reputation as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria. Speaking during a strategic meeting with state security officials, the governor stressed the importance of proactive planning to safeguard the state’s stability.
According to Abiodun, peace is not sustained by chance but by deliberate preparation, even when there are no immediate threats. He echoed the well-known principle that “the best time to prepare for war is during peace,” urging security agencies to remain vigilant and ready to neutralize any emerging risks.
He noted that Ogun State currently stands out as one of the most peaceful—if not the most peaceful—states in the country. However, he emphasized the need for continuous effort to retain this status, pointing out that preparedness is the strongest defense against potential security disruptions.
Governor Abiodun encouraged security operatives to intensify surveillance, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and adopt preventive strategies that can mitigate threats before they escalate. His remarks underscored the administration’s dedication to sustaining safety, promoting investor confidence, and ensuring an environment where residents can thrive without fear.
