A coordinated suicide attack struck the headquarters of Pakistan’s Frontier Constabulary in Peshawar on Monday, resulting in the deaths of three paramilitary personnel and injuring at least five others. The assault unfolded in the densely populated capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, shaking the city and prompting an urgent security response.

According to police reports, the attackers opened fire as they forced their way into the compound before detonating explosives. Deputy Commandant Javed Iqbal confirmed that three personnel were killed in the blasts.

A senior security official, who spoke to Reuters anonymously, revealed that the first bomber targeted the main entrance of the headquarters. “The second and third attackers managed to enter the compound before setting off their explosive devices,” he said.

Following the explosions, law enforcement agencies — including the army and police — quickly cordoned off the area. Authorities believe additional attackers may still be inside the facility and are proceeding with caution.

The incident underscores the persistent threat of militancy in the region, particularly in Peshawar, which has experienced repeated attacks over the years. Security forces are continuing operations at the site as investigations into the attack progress.
