Fear and uncertainty have gripped Niger State after more than 200 students from St. Mary Private Primary and Secondary School were reportedly abducted by armed men. The victims include very young children, with some said to be just three and four years old.
According to accounts from relatives of eyewitnesses, the students were marched into the bush by the attackers shortly after the invasion. A family member of one witness revealed that a plane was allegedly seen hovering in the area around the time of the incident, raising further questions about the level of coordination behind the attack.
Families in the community have been thrown into panic as they await updates from authorities, while efforts to confirm the exact number of abducted students continue. The incident adds to the growing concern over student kidnappings in northern Nigeria, a troubling trend that has left parents, educators, and security officials on edge.
