Tension erupted in St. Paul after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were captured on camera using pepper spray on protesters who had blocked their path outside a local company. According to federal officials, the agents were on-site for a criminal investigation when they encountered a crowd obstructing their movement.
Video footage showed one ICE officer discharging nearly an entire can of pepper spray at close range as demonstrators refused to clear the way. The confrontation quickly escalated, leaving several protesters reeling from the effects of the spray and prompting widespread criticism of the agents’ tactics.
Authorities have not released further details about the nature of the investigation or whether any arrests were made, but the incident has intensified scrutiny of ICE operations and sparked renewed calls for accountability.
